How to Uninstall Karing on Mac Without Breaking the Internet

Karing is not just a window in Applications. Its macOS build can use a VPN network extension, TUN mode, system proxy settings, and a separate Karing Service SE component. Disconnect and restore a normal network path before removing the app, then verify the Karing-specific system settings instead of deleting generic network files.

Export anything you may need later

If you expect to reinstall Karing, save the subscription, routing, or configuration information you are allowed to keep. Do this before changing the VPN or deleting local app data.

Disconnect Karing before deleting it

Open Karing, disconnect the active connection, turn off TUN mode and any system-proxy option, then quit the app. Test a normal website before continuing. Karing's own FAQ explains that its macOS architecture uses a VPN network extension even when TUN behavior differs, so this check matters.

Review the Karing VPN configuration

Open System Settings and select VPN. If a Karing configuration is still present, make sure it is disconnected. Remove only the configuration clearly named for Karing; do not remove a work, school, or unrelated VPN profile.

Check Karing Service SE

Open System Settings, General, then Login Items & Extensions. Review Network Extensions and background activity for Karing Service SE or another clearly identified Karing item. Turn off only the Karing component. If macOS will not remove the extension, keep the app installed and use Karing's current support or release instructions rather than deleting protected extension files manually.

Quit remaining Karing processes

Open Activity Monitor and search for Karing. Quit the Karing app and a clearly identified Karing Service process only after the connection is off. If a process returns immediately, restart the Mac and recheck the extension instead of force-deleting files from System or Library folders.

Move Karing to Trash, then verify

Move Karing.app from Applications to Trash and restart. Test Wi-Fi or Ethernet with Karing closed. Keep the app in Trash until ordinary browsing works and no Karing VPN connection or background process returns.

Review ordinary leftovers last

After connectivity is stable, review Karing-named caches, preferences, logs, and Application Support data. A cleanup tool can help inventory these ordinary files, but it should not guess at protected system extensions, unrelated proxy settings, or generic network configuration.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can Karing remain after I delete the app?

Its VPN configuration, network extension, background component, or ordinary support files can exist outside Karing.app.

Why did my internet stop working after removing Karing?

A Karing VPN configuration, network extension, TUN state, or proxy setting may still be affecting traffic. Recheck those Karing-specific settings before changing DNS or unrelated network services.

Does Karing have an official Mac uninstaller?

Karing's current public macOS documentation describes DMG installation and its Service SE extension but does not document a separate uninstaller. If your installed build offers an uninstall command, use it; otherwise follow the app's current support guidance.

Should I disable System Integrity Protection to remove Karing?

No. Do not weaken macOS protection or manually delete protected extension files. Use macOS settings and the vendor-supported removal path.
